Meet the team

Peregrine House has a team of 36 staff including 4 managers, 25 care staff, 2 Cooks and 5 domestic staff, each of whom contributes to enriching the lives of our residents. They have all been recruited for their friendliness and professionalism as well as for their care skills.

Residents and their families can be assured that all the staff have been meticulously screened, with work references and police checks carried out thoroughly.

We only recruit individuals who can demonstrate that they are clearly committed to care as a vocation, not just a job, and we provide regular on-going training to ensure their skills are constantly monitored and improved.

Alison Bedford

Alison has spent much of her working life at Peregrine House, starting in the kitchen in 1999, and making a meteoric rise through the home as she displayed exceptional management skills, to become Manager in 2003.

She is utterly dedicated to guaranteeing the residents are happy and well cared for, and ensuring the whole team has the training and resources to achieve this consistently and to a particularly high standard.

Along the way she has acquired Excellent Awards and their associated three stars, the Investors in People GOLD Award and has been a finalist four times for the Regional Registered Care Manager Award, winning the coveted title Registered Care Home Manager of the Year in November 2012.

Alison has two daughters, Alex, 24, a chef and Jade, 23, a beautician. When she is not working she enjoys long walks with her dog Robbie and even longer walks to raise money for several charities.

Andrea Warnes

Andrea started at Peregrine House aged 19 and soon settled into the environment, quickly achieving NVQ level 2 in care and other qualifications, clearly thriving on the ongoing training.

With some previous experience in catering, Andrea was later invited to take on the role of Cook, which she enjoyed for several years until her children reached school age and the early starts became difficult.

Keen to retain Andrea at Peregrine House, owners Kevin and Teresa O’Sullivan encouraged her to consider taking on a new role as administrator; a position created by necessity when the first building project at Peregrine House increased the number of residents.

In her spare time she has pursued an interest in genealogy and has helped residents at Peregrine House with their family trees, leading to one resident finally getting to meet a long-lost nephew. She also enjoys crafts and sewing, and has made some of the soft furnishings here at Peregrine House.
