Details of Staff Numbers and Staff Training

The full staff complement of the home is the manager, two Heads of Care (one on duty every day Mon-Sun), 26 Care Assistants, 2 Cooks and 5 domestic staff.  This staffing level is a guide only, as changes in staffing are occasioned by the changing needs of the residents and our desire to constantly increase fulfillment for residents and staff.. The staff of Peregrine House are selected for their qualities of friendliness and professionalism as well as for their care skills. All our staff are carefully screened and work references and police checks are always carried out thoroughly. During induction all staff are trained in-house by experienced, qualified senior staff in the following critical subjects:

The home offers training to staff to achieve NVQ Level 2 and later, level 3 in appropriate disciplines.

The home also gives staff relevant training courses for such topics as food hygiene, manual handling, care of the elderly, first aid and medication administration training and many more subjects.
